OFFICIAL SILVER SCREENER REVIEW
– PROMETHEUS –
Director: Ridley Scott.
Plot outline: A crew of experts and explorers journey to a far away planet to discover the origins of life.
Actors: Dr Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) is the lead in this thriller, playing the “lead explorer” of the ship Prometheus. She is partnered by an android, David (Michael Fassbender), who is played ever so well. Exploratory supervisor Meredith Vickers (Charlize Theron) is also fantastic.
Compared to alike movies: Well, in comparison to Alien, the movie is much more refined and looks a lot cleaner, but the story has holes and the suspense doesn’t quite compare to the original Alien.
The good, bad and ugly?: The good? Visuals. The movie looks amazing and feels so intensely real. Special effects and imagery is top class. The bad? Plot. Has holes in the story and doesn’t fully answer questions it raises. The ugly? Can’t really think of an awful aspect.
Sequel – Yay or nay?: Yay. Leaves many questions unanswered and would be ideal for a direct Alien sequel. Has potential.
Worth seeing?: No doubt. Even though it may never compare to Alien, it is still a good film at heart and definitely one of the better thrillers I’ve seen. Worth it.
